August – October – Open Rehearsals
Do you want to try Mad Molly?  Come to our open rehearsals on Sundays at Fairmeadow School on East Meadow Drive in Palo Alto just behind Mitchell Park.  Rehearsals open to all are 1:00 – 3:00 on August 28, September 11 and 25, and October 9. We welcome men and women to join.


September 10 – Sweet 16 Party

Come watch and/or dance with Mad Molly in downtown Palo Alto as we celebrate 16 years of molly and border dancing in the bay area! Anyone who has ever attended a rehearsal, thought (however briefly) of joining Mad Molly, seen a flier or a performance, who is a former member,  is named Molly, or is a molly of any kind is especially welcome. Times and locations TBD.

November 5 – Dance the Sun Down
Six months after dancing the sun up, we will dance the sun down for another winter season. We’ll start at the Sunnyvale Library, move to the Mountain View Library, then dance at several locations along Castro Street in MV, ending at St. Stephen’s Green pub for well-deserved ales and appetizers. Times TBD.

June 19 – Palo Alto World Music Day

Mad Molly dances in downtown Palo Alto in Lytton Plaza at 4:20 pm – street dancing at its best!  Don’t miss us; we’ll only be there 20 minutes!

June 18 – Seabright Morris Day of Dance in Santa Cruz
Be a molly groupie!  Follow Mad Molly and other morris teams around Santa Cruz for a lazy summer day. Catch the latest molly dance specially choreographed for the Giant Dipper roller coaster. Check the Seabright Morris web site for the schedule closer to the date.

May 21 – San Francisco Richmond Branch Library
Another May fete, 351 Ninth Avenue, San Francisco, CA, 2:30 p.m.

May 15 – Barron Park’s May Fete

This fete in Bol Park, Palo Alto, is an annual event for Mad Molly. Come watch us dance, learn a molly dance or two yourself, then join in the maypole dancing! Dark Energy longsword team will also join the festivities. Learn more about the May Fete at this Palo Alto Weekly archive.

May 1: Dance the Sun Up (!) at the Palo Alto Baylands
Meet at 5:30 a.m. at the Palo Alto Baylands (link goes to map). Take Embarcadero Road east from Highway 101 to the end of the road, turn left, go past the airport, bear right, past the duck pond and Gate B, right again to the parking lots. We will be joined by the Deer Creek Morris Men and the Dark Energy longsword team. Munchies will be available. You can join in at the end, when we teach everyone the traditional and extremely easy dance Sellenger’s Round aka The Beginning of the World.

April 23 & 24 – The California Morris Ale
Two days of dancing fun with lots of local and out-of-state morris teams at various Bay Area locations. Check here for the latest ale information.

April 10 – The Garden Tour

Join us at 1:30 p.m. for the annual blessing of the Palo Alto gardens starting at the Main Garden at Embarcadero and Newell Roads behind the library parking lot, then at the Eleanor Pardee Park garden at Center Drive and Channing Avenue.

April 3 – Njeri’s Morning Glory School

Mad Molly dances at 1:30 p.m. for the school’s annual Spring Faire on Latimer Avenue between Hamilton Avenue and San Tomas Aquino Road in San Jose. Faire hours are from 10 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

January 15 – Winter Traditions Day of Dance in San Francisco
Follow Mad Molly and nine other morris teams as we show off all our non-Cotswold traditions at Fisherman’s Wharf, the Beach & Larkin bocce courts, and Hyde Street Pier. Watch everybody dance from 10 a.m. – noon at Fisherman’s Wharf, then after you’ve had lunch, see our second acts from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Beach & Larkin bocce courts, and Hyde Street Pier.
